Du'a - A Special Gift
"Call upon your Lord in humility and privately; indeed, He does not like transgressors."
Dua, for me is a special gift from Allah. It is a link that connects us directly to Him. It is free, wireless, and the coverage covered the whole universe. No matter how low your earthly status, you can talk to him, privately.
However, we need to understand that dua is a request, not a demand. The beautiful of dua does not lie on the answers, but the dua itself. Dua is a way for us to have a warm and deep conversation with Him, and that itself is a huge blessings. Because, you don't need to tell Him anything, He is the All-Knowing. But you need that time with Him. And He is the best listener.
When you wait with beautiful patience for your dua to be answered, you understand that Allah keeps no one waiting unless He sees that there is only goodness within the wait. Dua is not about how fast it is answered, but how huge the impacts and benefits it will bring.
Ibrahim a.s, a great prophet but his dua was answered thousands years later, after he had passed away. But because of the dua, Islam has spread all over the World.
Prayer is not just a mere weapon. From it, comes strength. From it, comes solace. From it, comes help. Sometimes, God's help is only a prayer away. Dua is a way to feel connected with God. Like the prohets did. Like the sahaba did. Dua helped them to go through what they have been through. Let us reflect how Dua save Musa a.s, when the cruelest Firaun hunted him down. How the weak, powerless, hungry and helpless Musa was saved, given a wife, a place to stay, shelter, foods, job and also protection. He had nothing but his God and to Him, he whispered, "My Lord, indeed I am, for whatever good You would send down to me, in need."
So, pray.
Because Allah always listen.
